Which ever one comes out the fastes is the waste water. I would still double check with somebody who uses a Kent unit.

On the Kent unit, the orange tube (waste water) connects to the inferior (lower) outlet on the end of the membrane canister.
The good water coming out of the prefilters in the yellow tube goes into the superior (top) inlet on the membrane canister. This is when you are looking at the membrane canister label and the connections are on your left. |

that membrane filter is a killer. Has anyone tried recycling the waste. But I heard that softening the water may help.Jerry Last edited by JerryReef; 10-23-2001 at 09:28 AM. |

Waste Factors
The 3 things that determine the waste ratio are temp, pressure and water quality.
If the temp is low the viscosity is higher and less water permeates the membrane If the water is hard, scale forms and stops the water from passing through the membrane. If the pressure is low the water takes the path of least resistance and goes to drain. But all that was said is true, the waste line produces faster then the permeate line, also the waste line has a flow restictor in it. A thin thead like thing, it can be seen by putting a flash light to the tubing! I hope this helps! I did not have time to spell check...SORRY Marianne
