Question EcoSystem40, Aquafuge, or Sump??

I'm at the point where I know I need a refugium. I'm trying to decide between building a sump or just getting a hang-on style refugium. Any advice? I know the hang-on will be quick and easy, but will it be effective? also.. does anyone have any opinion on the EcoSystem40?? that's the refugium I've been looking at. Anyone have a CPR Aquafuge? how do you like it? what would be the best choice for my 46 gallon tank? I know the EcoSystem is only rated up to 40 gal tanks. Any feedback is appreciated!

a sump =bigger more effective and will cost less than the hangon for equal size.

Great deal on ecosystem.

Bummer, I purchased the Ecosystem yesterday so I'll let you guys know what I think of it. I can tell you that the set up process was kind of a pain. Between the rio 600 that didn't want to work right away, and trying to create the vacuum in the overflow, I got frustrated pretty quick. I got a great deal on it, so I thought I'd give it a try. I paid $175 for a bran-new ecosystem and a bag full of caulerpa! not bad huh? I've heard most people pay around $300 for these systems. I'm still considering the sump, but should I even think of setting one up using an overflow box? I don't really want to cut a hole in my tank since it's already a mature tank.

Using an overflow w/ a sump is fine. 2 of the 3 tanks that I've got running use overflows w/ the sump/refugiums I've built. HTH
