RO preformance
Tomt,
The recommend way to "baby sit" your RO/DI unit is; 1) Make a note of the pressure when you first hook it up. I recommend marking your pressure gauge or you can just keep a record. This will tell you when your prefilters are loading. When you drop 5-7 PSI change them! In areas with low sediment you will not see a pressure drop, do not go longer than 1 year with the same prefilters. 2) Check the TDS coming out of your MEMBRANE. This TDS should be fairly low. EXAMPLE: 200 PPM raw water to 5-7 TDS after the membrane. This should be checked every 6 months. Note your results. When you start to see the quality fall off it is time to change your membrane. Normally 2 years, up to 3 years. 3) The DI is color changing. No more need be said. 4) DO NOT RUN HOT WATER in your system. 80 degrees F, should be MAX. 5) Do not let the unit freeze. 6) Flush you membrane. 7) Make sure your pressure is at least 40 PSI Thats about it, let me know if I left anything out. It is early in the morning. I may not be connecting all the dots yet ![]()
