check your CSL U2 UV Sterilizer

I lost almost all of my fishes in my 135 FOWLR thank within a week. It start with the stress of introducing new fishes couple weeks ago. My sailfin tang didn't like the new tanksmate too much and it focus it's attention on the golden butterfly. I turned of the light and hope the chase would end but the next day, I found the GB looks like a cotton ball. I start treating the tank with RX-P because it is the only non-copper medi I know would work with a skimmer. I moved the SF into another tank. (It ran into my net when it chase the GB ) The GB getting better. However, a few days later, other fishes start getting ick and things goes downhill. Medi and water change cannot save them. I checked my UV light and see things really wrong. I only use my 15W U2 for 5 months, the reflector surrounding the light is covered with light grey power. I think it is aluminum oxide, i wonder if they Anodize the reflector to prevent corrosion. Also, the light bulb is already dim and the coil is growing red. I end up ordering another bulb but the reflector is hard to clean because it's narrow and deep. I think the bulb life is 1 yr, not less than 5 mo and the poor quality reflector reduce efficience. I am looking for another UV, probably 40 W, there is nothing wrong with overkilling with UV, right

RH, the best is the emperor aquatics. I use a 40 watt on a 200 gallon tank. The uv is in-line and works great.

I think in-line UV works better also... after my experience w HOT. In-line handles higher flow rate and treats more water. I am considering Emperor 40W and Aqua 25W. Aqua can handle 1000 flow and 250g aquarium (info fr premium), Emperor handles1574 flow and 200 g tank. I have a Mag 9.5 return pump and 135 tank. So, both should work fine in my tank. Aqua 25W cost less... I hope the info on tank size and flow are correct. Anyone using the Aqua? I gonna move the surviving fishes to my hospital tank downstair and strip the tank. I plan to replace all water, take the rock and sand out and put it in fresh water this wkend.... and start over from begining .. I think it is better than taking the risk of another crash.
