just curious, i noticed that it's tightly packed in there. how do you get into the tanks?

the ten gallon slides out so i can top off,the sump is in the middle and i have good access to that, the only one thats really tight is the refugium, and i guess ill only be yanking caluerpa out of there so no need for too much room, just enough.yes its very tight, but everything screws apart as far as plumbing goes and i can get everything in /out with a little bit of effort(did it, i re-did my sump to get rid of bubbles).

was it expensive to get the glass drilled?

well the oceanic is reef ready ,i drilled the refugium and the ten gallon myself it costed 11 bucks i think for the bit at HD. its alot easier than you might think .i almost wish i had drilled the back of the oceanic for the closed loop ,but since i have to throttle the damn ampmaster back half way anyway ,i dont see that it matters since the pipes are hidden in the overflows.

How much water flows through the refugium? That "rio motion" thing looks like a propeller for the Queen Mary. Seriously, your entire system looks great, but I am a believer that sometimes less is best, at least when it comes to refugium flow. Can you control the flow through the refugium and shut it off from the rest of the system if necessary? I don't think the turbulence will bother the calurpa, but it could cause a problem if you also hope to encourage pod growth in the refugium.
Thanks for sharing your pictures and info.

GARY,
thanks for nice compliments, are you trying to say my "rio motion" is big and ugly?lol im sure its not even neccesary but i have it and it works and splitting the flow to two streams calms down the turbulance. im with you on the less refugium flow,i put a ball valve above the "rio motion",and changed a few other things too since the pics.ill update evrything when its finally "complete".

Thumbs up Very well done!

I love the cabinetry in the hood! Great ideas OR. I knew you where workin on your tank but i forgot what size it is, man you have come along way! Great sump/refugium design. Do you still have room for other things that you may want to add in the future? like a CA reac?

thanks alot im pretty proud of how its turning out,you remember how jealous i was of you and wuelfman for finishing up so quick?the stand and hood took me about 4 months of weekends to build its my first and wont be my last. ive really started enjoying working with wood, trying to find something to build .

I knew you where workin on your tank but i forgot what size it is

its a 120

well ,no ,not really i wish. the only thing i was thinking i might want to add is a ca reactor.i was thinking i might build a little cabinet for one if need be,or come up with something.anyway ,i think ive eliminated the "tank budget" for the year .
