    Talking Just showing off

Well I just got my PLC re-wired on the lights and so forth for my tank. The tank is on the other side of the wall and this power board is going down the stairs to the basement. You can just make out the flex pipes running to my sump.

I use the PLC (program logic controller) to turn on and off all my lights, I will use it to shut down my skimmer and I also have had it programed to cycle power heads on and off if I so desire. All I lack is the cover on the top of the wire bus.

I have no power heads in my tank but may add a few to use the "wave maker" function. I also thought about cycling my ampmaster 3000 re-circ pump, but not sure if they can handle be turned on and off often. I can set the on/off time for any number of minutes.

I can not take credit for the programing, that was done by a EE friend of mine. I did all the wiring, and thought behind it.

    Nice rig buddy
I plan on a similar setup w/ our 112g clam tank. Of course that won't get started until I renovate the kitchen and 2 bathrooms this winter. When I get started I might want to ask you a few questions though, OK?

I am just using that as a timer. Its actual function is a machine controller. PLC~program logic controler.

Right now I can switch or cycle 24 120v ac functions and recieve input from 8 24vdc sources. As far as the amps that is something I am working with right now. I may have to add some icecube relays to act as a buffer between the PLC and the higher current drawing devices like my halides. The unit fires and works as programed but when it shut of it takes a few minutes for the lights to shut down (past time) I feel that the amps may be holding the internal relays on the circuit board in a latched state until it bleeds off some of the load.
