Nilsen\Kalk reactor?
Anybody out there use one of these? I have a liter meter so I might as well use it to drip kalk. I have always had good results using Kalkwasser....
How do you like it? Can you post a piture or two? Mark |

Check out this web page. ( http://cereal.mv.com/nilsen.html ) This is where I started when I decide to build one myself.
The unit that I built has incorporated a few changes from the one on the web page. Actually, I've made a few changes from the the picture I've posted. I re-plumbed the unit so the recirculating powerhead is right-side up. It seems that when the re-circ powerhead was off, kalk would settle in the impeller well, and I was going through impellers at the rate of one every 2 months. I also installed some 1/2" ball valves on the recirc loop, so I can change the impellers without having to drain the whole unit. Michael |

Michael,
Thank you very much. You did a great job on tha reactor. Are you using a Maxi-Jet Powerhead? Mark |

Mark,
Thanks. Yes, it is a maxi-jet 400. Good luck if you decide to build one. One of these days I plan to put together a web page and include some info on how I built the reactor and the DIY peristaltic pump. Michael |

Michael,
I've been talking with George (Geo) about making me one. I figure by the time I bought the stuff and tools I need to make it George could do it cheaper. These are new to him and me so were still in the planning stages. He seems to think he's got it figured out. I trust him to make a top notch product. He wouldn't ship it out if it wasn't. I have a Liter meter ran off of two float switches so all I really need to do is stick it inline. it should be very easy to install. Mark |
