yes its too late.all ready ordered and they allready shipped. im not looking for much flow through the sump. maybe around 500 gph. thats a turnover of around 4 times an hour. then the 2 seaswirls on my ampmaster. and the mag18 for the skimmer.

Man I love being a part of a discussion that I am no party in. If that makes any sense at all. I am very pleased running my skimmer, which is a bit of a modified MR-2 (2" taller mixing chamber, 2" taller riser). The thing to consider when setting up like I have is to decide on your flow priority. My ampmaster feeds the skimmer and two tanks. The tanks are 180 and 72 gallons. I really don't think have much more than 1000gph between the two of them. The rest goes to the skimmer. Perhaps a better way of stating this is that I make sure the skimmer has plenty of flow and give the tanks what is left. That is my choice since both tanks have their own internal flow devices. It works for me. I don't know that my setup is anything exemplary. Just one guys way of getting the job done. I looked at the power consumption of the mags vs the flow of the ampmaster and decided that I could consolidate some of the flow duties and save some money to boot. It probably isn't the best way to do it. The most consistent thing for skimming is for the skimmer to have it's own pump. I chose to do things a bit differently. Take it of leave it, some may not like it. But hey, it does work well.
