how's this for a setup? and a few questions...

well, after much research and bad luck, this is what i have for my reeftank 60gallon...let me know what u guys think....

60gallon
2x96watts from ahsupply.com
60-70lbs of live rock
150watt heater
2 maxijet powerheads
aquaC urchin pro skimmer
15gallon sump

i have an overflow box that goes into a meshnet (to trap) and then it goes thro the skimmer and then back into the tank.

now my question is about the substrate. i've read about reeftanks that don't have any substrates...reeftanks that have only 1-2inches and then there are the reeftanks with 4-5inches. i'm a bit confused.

thanks,

johnny

Sounds like it will be a nice setup. The question I would ask is...what animals do you plan on keeping? Depending on what you are going to keep, you may want to rethink your lighting or add to it. I wouldn't put less than 4 96 watt PC's on your tank and if you can. If you plan on keeping soft coral and mushrooms then the 4x96 should be fine. If you want to keep SPS ever, I would definitely put metal halide on the tank. Keep us posted. GOod luck.
