I'm having a real problem with my timers. I'm on my third group and now one of these have failed.
This last one was a heavy duty appliance timer and the internal motor stopped working. What are you guys using? thanks, Bill |

I use the kind you get from Home depot with the red and green pins. I have some that are 5+ years old and work like the day I bought em

Intermatic has electronic timmers. IMHO one of the best timers on the market easy to use and are not power outage sensitive.

Hate to say it but it was an Intermactic that just died. I've been using those little red/green peg timers. The first three are already trashed and forgotten. Then I bought 4 GE brand- only one is still working and only half of the Intermactics are running. It seems all the other ones on the shelf only handle a plug without a ground.
I'm thinking of checking with an electrical supply co. next week and see what they have. I would prefer a timer that plugs into the front with a plug that has a ground. Is there any out there? |

That's funny, I'm using about 10 of them (red and green pins) through out the house (tank, xmas lights) and never had a problem. Try the digital timers from Wal Mart. I use one of those on my Nelson reactor and it seems to work pretty good.

Thanks,
will give Walmart a check. It must just be my luck with these timers. I sort of hate to put more money into them but I might give them another chance. |

When choosing a timer, get one that's rated for at least twice the wattage that you connect to it.
