Whats a good replacement for.....

I'm helping my "boss/animal diversity teacher" at EIU with the marine tank this semester and the rio 2500hp powerhead for the red sea berlin skimmer. The rio burned out and sent a black oil-ish liquid into the marine tank. Luckily nothing was harmed. It happened a while ago and everything looks good. What is the best replacement for it? He asked me to look into it. At the moment I've been happy with majxijet and penguin's performance but what would you recommend?
thanks for any input.
Jon

You can try the Oceanrunner2500, 3500 or a mag-drive750

I really Dont know, but the GPH rating should be fine.

You should consult you LFS for a "good" pump....most LFS are a bit more expensive than mail-order companys though

Anyway, good luck finding the right pump!

I replaced my Rio2500 on my Berlin skimmer with a Sen900. I have to use a ball valve to turn the pump down a bit because it is a little too powerful, so you probably could use a Sen700 instead.
