there is no way you can use an ampmaster anything for a refuguim. and epect to have good flow up top... hence why the mag7... thats my sump return.. the ampmaster just blasts my acro's..... you might want a rio 1700 or somthing small then. save your money.

well i used my ampmaster through just my sump. it was pulling water to fast the let things work in my sump. i slowed it down then had no flow inside my tank..... i was more stating that its worth haveing 2 or 3 pumps, one for each result. i allways thought that refuguims needed slower flow than an ampmaster...?

Naser,
It just depends on size or how you\they have em setup. You can setup a sump\refugium so that water flows through the sump side a lot faster then the refugium side. Some of the bigger refugiums can handle a lot of flow. More then one way to skin a cat.

Unfortunately running 3 pumps is alot more costly, both in the units, and in the amount of electricity they use.

Why spend the extra money if I don't really have to. I'm going to try and set up the sump to get less flow through the ref. If I have to tone it down, I don't think I'll have a problem. Not with 4 MJ 1200's backing it up.
