In my opinion Calcium Reactors are way over priced. They are not that hard to build and there are plenty of DIY plans out there. Mine has worked great since I built it maintaining an output of 450+ calcium. Here is a picture of mine.

Hello Lock, Where did you get your diy plan for your reactor? It looks very good.

Geo Reactor!
Of course its the only one I have ever used...but it has been going strong for almost 2 yrs now excellent craftmanship for very reasonable cost.

Here again, how many people do you think have used more then one calcium reactor. Its hard to say what's best if there's nothing to compare. I would think about asking George (Geo) or Andy (Myreef) to build you one. I use a Geo Calcium reactor and a Geo built Nilsen reactor. You wont find a better bult unit then what George makes....
Best? I don't know cause I have nothing to compare it too I bet you had peopel vote who don't even use a calcium reactor![]() |

I've never owned, operated, or built a reactor, but I'd go Koralin for a commercial model. To save money though, i'd probbly build the one on Snailman's website. If you need detailed DIY instructions, check out Snailman at RC.

I'll put in a plug for Lifereef. Only one I have seen or used. Very well built and no problems. Plug and play.
So far I enjoy using it. If I was to start over I think I would build all my own equipment. Bill |
