Ill tell you what I found out about some of the dolphin pumps Organic...there is a ring inside their pumps (all of them except the AM3000 i think) and the ring helps route the water but is NOT needed...My AM2100 is doing the same thing as your pump is doing....so I called Dolphin...and explained...he is sending me out a new ring and told me how to replace it....he said I could leave the ring out but will lose aproximately 10% of the pressure. If I replace this ring and the noise comes back, then im yanking that piece of crap ring out and leaving it out.....Call up dolphin and ask them about it....the ring is a VERY cheap part so even if your out of warranty which i doubt...then it shouldnt cost you much to fix. HTH!

its not a AM itS one of the submersible "sen" type pumps.it was always really loud.i was planning on replacing it just for that reason.its so loud its not only annoying its embaresing
i think a couple people looked at me funny for having this loud aquarium exhibit in my living room its so much quieter now there is no way im using a dolphin submersible sen ripoff again i LOVE my ampmaster though, best pump ive ever had thats for sure![]() |

Nothing wrong w/ Mag pumps either(IMO). I've been running Mags exclusively since I've been in this hobby. Not one failure yet, and very quiet.
