Are the tanks from PetSmart drillable?

I wanted to put a corner overflow in a 120 gallon tank... The ones @ PetSmart are ~$300... Does anyone know if the bottoms are drillable so I could put some kind of standpipe in there. Also, could someone provide me with information on standpipes, or how I would go about setting up a corner overflow? Thanks guys!

I would guess that in a tank of that size , the manufacturer would use tempered glass in the bottom . That means that "no" the bottom of the tank is not drillable . An option maybe to drill the back of the tank, insert a bulkhead with a 90 degree fitting on the inside , and put a standpipe on top of that. Petsmart should be able to tell you "for certain" if the glass in thier tanks is tempered or not . That would be where I would start. My sig has a link to a page that has a lot of standpipe info . HTH.

From what I have heard about petsmart, im not sure if I would trust what they say....usually you can write down the all the codes and numbers on a tank (look for small stickers too) and the manufacturers name and get the manufacturers Toll free number from petsmart and call them with the codes and ask them if the bottom is tempered....actually they are making alot of tank bottoms now that arent tempered as they are starting to see that the industry wants the option to drill.....I know that alot of the All-Glass tanks now come with bottoms that are NOT tempered. Good luck
