Arrow Comments on plumbing plan

I want to know what every thinks of this plan for plumbing my 105g tank. Now this pretty much just the behind the tank plumbing. But everything below the tank should be just a straight hook up.
Let me know wht you think

Do you mean 1 1/2" from the intakes to a 2" "Y" and then 2" down to the pump??

one last thing...like i originally said ,i still suggest the 1" sea swirls, they really arent that loud....this is strictly my opinion, and as long as youre using 1.5 all the way into them ,you probly wont lose too much.

Talking another suggestion

the sea swirls are gonna give you all the surface agitation youll need,i would make the holes on the spay bar point down at alternateing angles

Good tip organic. Yes I plan to have the spray bar "spray" down a bit so I will get some good flow behind the rock pile

hmm was thinking...looks like you left out some unions.i would put a union right before each sea sirl so you can remove for maintanance.

You lost me paul! The only tee I see is the one for his spraybar...I think since the bar is inline w/the tee it would make it effecient? No?

Very nice.

Paul has a good suggestion of Installing the double wye on the spraybar to reduce frictional losses.

Make sure to install a short piece of soft pipe between the PVC and the pump. It'll make things quieter and you won't have to worry about vibrations from the pump cracking your tank.

Also make sure that you measure your pipe lengths correctly so you don't put undue stress on those bulkheads. You don't want leaks through the bulkhead or take any chances on breaking the glass. *yikes* Short pieces of flex help, but they induce some pressure loss.

ok guys,im still confused on the double y everybody seems to have got it but me.....................
if he connects the spray bar to a y wont it stick out at funny angles????
i think the spray bar should be made of 1 1/2 black abs ,and as flush to the wall as possible...if a y can be incorperated over the t im all for it but i just cant seem to visualize it??in the link i couldnt find a pic of said part either..

i was thinking.....you shouldnt even have the spray bar that high up,mid tank where it will me mostly concealed by the rock stucture might be better aesthetically, technically it does slightly increase head but not very much at all,and when it comes to the inside ,its time to start thinking aesthetics anyway, right

LTSPD you da man!!!!!!

Paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You found it That means I wasn't seeing things
That is what I've been looking for!!Much Much better theb the Tee thing. Do you have any idea what the head might be on that?

Organic: The reasson I wanted to put the spray bar near the surface, is cause I would like to be able to keep "some" SPS and I heard that they need LOTS of flow didn't think that the 2 SS's would be enough!?!
I do plan to use unions on the SS's and any where else I feel them needed.

Does flex pipe cause more head then ridgid pipe. I planed to run flex from the pump to the manifold then use mostly ridgid from there on
