    Thumbs up Aquarium Currents Inc.

Just a plug for these guys. My SeaSwirl stopped working and I was given the OK to send it back to AC Inc.
I sent it out Tuesday and got it back Saturday. Running like new.
    They did a great job!

That's good news bill. I guess they had a bad batch of motors that effected some of the 3/4" models. Was your 3/4"?

I know of one person who had problems with a 1" model also..

It was the 3/4" model and it was under warranty. I had it since May and a couple weeks ago it stopped moving but was making a thumping noise. When I wrote to AC Inc. and describe what it was doing they said it was the motor. I was mostly commenting on the fact that they were so quick.
If you have a Sea Swirl that goes bad you have to first get an authorization number before sending it back or it will not be accepted. Also, after the one year warranty you can still send your unit back for repairs for the normal cost of $25-35 for the 1/2", $35-45 for the 3/4" and $45-60 for the 1" but you still need the authorization number.
Make REAL SURE that you keep your sales slip or the warranty is worthless.
All this will be in the papers sent with the unit.
Although this was a minor set back I'm still very pleased with the way these units have been working in my system.
One more thing is if you get one. Plug it in and place your hand on top of it and feel how it is running. It should run smoothly. If you feel any small clunks I think I would let them know.

I had a 3/4" model which made a "clunking" sound when it hit the direction-change point. The Sea Swirl people immediately exhanged it for a new one which has worked flawlessly for me.
