Power Supply BackUp

Hi Everyone,
Would a computer power supply backup battery be OK to use on our aquariums?
I have a 29G tank and if power should go down I would only want to keep the 150W heater and the MaxiJet 1200 power on. I figure I could forgo the skimmer and lights in case of an outage.
How long could a computer battery keep these itmes running?

Thanks,
CaptK

alot of people use them for backups.
i think it might be wise to not put the heater on it and only use it for circulation...the heater will burn it out in no time.besides the most important thing is circulation/aeration

Not this year but before next winter I'm getting a gas generator. Our power went out three times over last weekend but thankfully for only a hour or so each time. Yesterday my furnice quit. The house got cold but I have 800w of heaters in my tank and they were going.
In the colder states you don't want to count out your heaters. Last year I had no heat for 28 hrs with -30 wind chill outside. Doesn't take long . Bill

"knock on wood"
I've been trying to not to think about having an power outage
But using an "back up" is a good idea. So how long would one run a single power head?? Here in New England you never know if/when the power will go out. Since I live in a apartment getting a generater isn't all that easy. I just really glad that this winter has been pretty mild here, and we haven't lost power yet.
