My new(used) tank

well I just took some pics of the new tank (new to me) I'm setting up for my reef tank and I thought you might like to see em'
Its a Oceanic 105g with matching hood and stand. The tank is 5ft long 24" tall and 18" wide. The entire thing stands 5'2" from floor to top of hood

Its hard to see scale in a picture, but is the hood going to be tall enough to hold the hqi's?

well the stock hood is only 6" tall so I'm still pondering how to have HQI's mounted. I'm thinking of hanging the fixture over the stock hood with the top panels removed. or just make a new hood. But the aquastarlight is really nice looking and should be shown off

let us know what you think of it... I also wanted to thank you for the help with the skimmer.... Tough, I think I am going to go with a Aqua Medic Hang On, the reason being versatility. I want to keep my options open as far as hang on or external configs. It seems comparable to the berlin series, I checked them out this afternoon at a LFS. Will see how it works, I have read that the pump it comes with might be a problem.

Marcom: no prob. bout the help with the skimmer. Are you talking about the pump that comes with the Berlin?? I got mine with out a pump. Plus with the hang on version you can set it up any way, hang on or not. I took the suction line that came with off and hooked a straight line to the skimmer from the pump. want a better pic?

The comment about the pump was inregards to the aqua medic... I was looking at some old posts and I found that you were selling dosers, do you still have some??

The Aquastarlight fixture doesn't have an L.E.D. moonlight. It has a 25w blue incandescent moonlight with a separate power cord so that it can be plugged into a separate timer or controller from the two HQI lamps. The AB-Aqualine L.E.D. moonlight is a separate item that is sold by itself.

NINONG: Thanks for the correction on the L.E.D. Have you seen it though? Also on another note, I read that you use a aquamedic turboflotor, I'd like to ask you a few questions about it???

Thanks,
Marco

Talking

what a peice of .....

j/k you bought it used?how much if i may ask you have 2 icecap660's for actinics???how many do you plan to run?!?!
nice tank, looks like you will need to do something about the hood though, taking the "tops off" and mounting youre light fixture so that the bottom of it is just barely covered by the top of the canopy sounds like it might work ok.
i personaly dont like those kind of fixtures hanging open above a tank, the light spilling out is annoying too bright,at eye level or higher when sitting...definitely needs an enclosure imo

hard to say without seeing it,and doing a little research on prices of a couple of those things, but again depending on condition, such as scratches /age,and basically the reason the guy is selling id say that for all that anything around a thousand ,give or take depending on condition(how many times can i stress that )woulkd be a good deal
