Sea Swirl Question
I would like to rotate the inlet barb on my sea swirls to reduce the stress of the tubing on the barb itself. Can this be done? If so how? I dont want to mess anything up inside the units.
Here is a shot

Hi Paul,
Yes, it can be done. Just send sea-swirl an e-mail and they will tell you how to do it. I did it to mine over a year ago and I don't exactly remember what I had to do.

Jeff,
Thanks! I thought it could be done, just wanted to make sure. Anybody out there know how its done? I would love to hook the seaswirls up this evening and get things back in order on the tank.

ltspd, imo you should replace the whole inlet, youre using 3/4 's right?well a 3/4 hose inlet acually has a 1/2 inch hole...
replace the hole thing with a 1 1/2 elbow with a threaded reducer...hth![]() |

Hi Paul...Yeah you can ...and I would recommend doing as OR said...replace the whole barbed elbow w/ a slipxthread coupler of your choice that way you can glue the elbow right where you want it to point....Ed at SS will walk you through this...But for a quick explanation you will have to grab hold of the bottom part after taking off the outlet...you will need to use a thin rag and slip joint pliers the rag will keep from boogering up the threads...once you have a good clamp on the bottom outlet then you can unscrew the top barb... Clean all the threads real good...use teflon tape and a very light layer of silicone to seal the connections.
