    Deep Sand Beds and Aragomax

I was looking at the caribsea aragomax, there is a lfs that will sell it to me at cost. So he says. What do you guys think about what grade to use? They have:

    Caribsea Aragamax 30lb
    Caribsea Aragamax Oolitic Select 30lb
    Caribsea Florida Crushed Coral 40lb
    Caribsea Seaflor FijiPink 18lb
    Caribsea Seaflor Flamingo 18lb
    Caribsea Seaflor Sp Grade 40lb

He was recommending going with the Caribsea Seaflor Sp Grade 40lb, because if there was alot of water movement the Aragamax would create a problem.
I have also been told to go with a mixture of 1/3 of each:Aragamax, oolitic, and seafloor.

    What do you guys think???

    Thanks,

I am very happy with the CaribSea Aragamax Sugar-Sized Oolite. I get it in 30 lb bags at high cost.

I depends on what you are trying to do. For a true dsb then I would use the sugar sized oolitic. It WILL blow around for a few days but settle down after it gets a bio-film on it and sticks together. The coarser gravel will trap a lot of crap and you can end up with algae problems down the road.
