Circulation.
Ok guys here it comes.
I have a closed loop on a mag 1800 ready to go. Mag 12 for the return. The mag 18 will be at maybe1-2 ft head beacause it is mounted on the back of the tank just above the water level. Got that idea from myreef. I was thinking I could still use more flow. I have 2 RIO 2100 (new) and thought if I added those behind the rockwork they would be out of sight but contribute to some pretty dynamic flow. I plan on keeping all sps with a focus on table tops (I want one). I know they are most abundant on the fore reef which faces the open ocean. I also know that I can never re-create the hydrodynamics of the ocean. I am asking if this is too much flow. The 2100 are rated at near 700gph at zero head. The mag 12 should pump 950-1000. The 1800 I eastimate 15-1600. I value any suggestions. Also the loop has two outlets. MROK12 |

I'd stay away from Rio's. I fried one last year, I know what they can do to a tank.

You will have more then enough circulation. Different people will tell you different standards (GPH's), but with just the 2 Rio 2100 thats like 1400GPH! Thats well over 10X the volume of your tank. You will be just fine.
