I have a Lifereef calcium reactor, 10lb Co2 tank, KORALlith media.
Drip rate 1 drop per second bubble rate 1 bubble every 3 seconds effluent Ph 6.7 The strange part is I haven't had to change out my Co2 tank since I set it up(1 1/2 years ago). My media has been disolving, right now it's gone down approx. 50% in the last 6 months. Is there something wrong with this picture?

What is showing on your Co2 gauge? My 5# bottle lasted about 9-10 months at about the same bubble count, so I think yours is OK. I would suspect, it would run out soon though, but trust me you will know.

Yeah i just renewed my Co2 tank tonite...its a 5lb tank and It last me about 8mos. I noticed a slight drop in PH and thought it was the media cuz one cylinder there was very little media and most of it was mush. but I go to check my bubble rate and there is no bubbles
I think I might get a 10-20lb tank once I have to replace my regulator though...not that much more expensive than a 5lb tank at the local weld shop.Im curious how big is your display tank ? My drip and bubble rates are about twice that fast...im running a Geo dual chamber on a 220g w/55g refug Last edited by scubadude; 02-27-2002 at 10:43 PM. |
