ive been running my old berlin classic with the kent venturi/mag 7 combo, and this skimmer kicks butt.its producing tons of dry foam practically nonstop for a few weeks now.
ive ran this skimmer with all kinds of pumps over the last 3 years, everything from a rio2500 to a mag 12,it has never EVER produced black stinky skimmate like its doing now. invest the 15 bucks in the kent venturi, and double the value(at least )of youre skimmer ![]() |

I have the same skimmer. I have it running on my best pump
( Iwaki ). It seems to work ok. Except sometimes it will go for days without foaming over. Where did you get the new venturi? MORTMAN

Could you do this type of attachment fairly easy on a DIY PVC skimmer? Seems pretty easy in terms of attaching the pump and venturi to the PVC (4") piping.

Thanks,
Can you tell me if you used the 3/4 inch or 1/2 inch venturi with your Mag 7. If you have pictures, then it will be even better. ![]() |

I'm interested in this as well. What size would I need to run the berlin using a Mag 9.5? Pictures would be great as well!
Thanks, Andrew

skimmer
Hi everyone,
I'm a reef keeper...let's share my experience,The KENT injector really make your RS skimmer rock...See attached photos. This one is the connection method for me in order to save space, I use 3/4" Injector coz its fit on the skimmer w/o any modify. |

This is the skimmer in action..note that the skimmer are full with bubble, the right juice bottle are the waste, before there was just full with bubble in the inner tube, but now with the middle tube...you can even adjust the value full opened so the outer tube ca even with bubble...but the bubble will just go out to your sump with on effect made , by replacing the Kent injector you need to scren out the injector screw form your skimmer's input pipe, block the air intake(I use the screw of the waste collector to do this) and use a larger dia. air tube to connect to the Kent injector's air intake. Don't forget to add a value in you pump's input pipe and the air tube, if you let it running full water and air in, you connection cup and floor will soon get a lot of water..
I also cut 1/3 of the inner tube so there is more time for the reaction of the air and water. resulting more skimmate and very fine bubble, the more powerful pump you used, the more good result you get.Hope this can help. P.S. I'm from Hong Kong so maybe you will need sometime to understood my "Hong Kong style English" Sorry! |
