above ground pond filtration\circulation...
ill keep this post short and sweet...
i am constructing an indoor above ground pond for some heavy output (ewwy) fish (bamboo shark) and want to know how far i should go with filtration. i know i posted this a while ago, but i want to get some fresh information... i was thinking of getting 2 high end cannisters and 1 high end wet-dry and a protein skimmer (i was told to skim the water like ive never skimmed before, what do you think?) lets guestimate that the pond will come out to 800gal what filters would you get? for circulation what pumps would you go with? i want to external pumps, one for surface agitation, what gph rate would be the best for a tank that size, i was thinking of having a turnover rate of 3-4x an hour (would that be adequate?) i have a diagram of the pond on this thread: above ground pond mark |
