New AG 92corner pre-drilled
I have ordered a 92 corner predrilled from AG. I will be upgrading from my current 55g. I am looking to get a new pump for this aquarium. I am thinking about buying an Iwaki 30RLXT. I am not sure yet on whether I will go with the Japanese or the American motor. My question is how much water will the built in overflow from AG handle and will the Iwaki pump be sufficient? When I set this aquarium up I want to do it right the first time. I just don't want to spend too much money on a pump but I want to get one that will last. Any ideas would be appreciated. Also I am going to be using my Dual 250W PFO 65K Iwasaki lights. Will these be sufficient for this tank? Eventually I plan on adding some actinics to my current setup.

Greg:
I've also have had a 92 gallon reef ready AGA tank for about 2 years. I have read that the overflow can only handle a pump that puts no more than a certain gallons per hour rate ( I believe 700 gph?). I have a MAG 7 in my 20 gallon sump underneath the tank and have had no problems. Before installing your overflow kit, check out Richard Durso's web site that discusses his DIY overflow system. I have the AGA overflow kit, and my overflow makes pretty much noise. Good luck! JRoweNole |
