Acrylic Bracing, need some assistance
The 75 gallon acrylic has bracing goes the perimeter of the tank. This is different than the 80 gal glass that i had. It only has one center bracing. The problem with the acrylic is that I'm afraid not enough light will penetrate the water because of the bracing. Basically, it is a big piece of acrylic that covers the top, except for 2 rectangular cutouts.
Is it possible to maybe cut off more of the bracing? Or will it break the tank when I fill it with water? I'm only using VHO's this time and worried not much of it will go trhough the acrylic. I will try post a pic of this tomorrow. Thanks again, Ilham |

Cutting up the top would be a bad idea. I will probably lead to problems latter on if not right away. You should contact whom ever built the tank and ask but I would have to definetly dont cut it.

All acrylic tanks are made that way. No, you can't cut away any of the top without doing serious damage to the structural integrity of the tank.
