Hello all, just picked up a Turbofloater1000. I had debated that or a Reefdevil. Anyway, had heard that the tfloater could be a pain to adjust but afterwards just let it go. Well I can't get this thing adjusted. So I have a few ?tions. I have foam for days; can't slow it down. It ran great for the 1st day, now just fills the cup with wet foam. cut the water intake down, worked better but that would take a month to cycle the tank through, and tried adj. the output valves all over the place. I'm sure I'm just starting wrong but can't get it. Any one with one of these give me a hand?! Much appreciate!! BTW this is the one without the integral trickle filter.

Hi roysheli!
Welcome to Reefland!
How long have you had the skimmer running? Most skimmers take a little while to break in. I would cut the intake down a bit and let it adjust in before tweaking the skimmer a lot. Once it has been running for a week or so, try adjusting it to get the foam you want. Hope this helps, Scott Z. |

I've had it running for 3 days, it's just now starting to calm down. I have a tube running from the collection cup back to the sump for now. This thing makes more foam than you can shake a stick at. My old skimmer is hmade and not the best. I forgot that it takes a while to break in.
