Overflow ?
I have 2 overflows. The wtr entering the sump is about 4" from the wtr level, which is causing a big splash and in return tons of micro-bubbles, which are being returned to my display tank, when I have my return ball valves fully open (that is how I would like to keep them) Can I have the tubing which is 1 1/4" id directly into the wtr level so it does not create such a big spash?
hope this makes sense TIA

I take it that you would just slip a coupler on the existing pipe and another piece of pipe to extend the correct length to get the water submerged? You can do all this by dry fitting it first...Not glueing it, and it should be able to hold the pressure to test to see if it works...I Had problems with mine being submerged which kinda created a vacumm on my overflow...so I drilled a couple of small holes in the pvc just above the water line in the sump on the extended new piece of PVC. this took care of the waterfall sound/bubbles and the vaccum. |
