Just got off the phone with Tom at Dolphin Pumps.... They have just came out with an Ampmaster 5600 which will put out 5600 GPH @8' of head and will consume only 2.2 amps while doing it :eek3: So has anyone got one of these pumps in action yet?

WOW sounds like a good replacement for my Dolphin 3600 that draws about the same wattage. Any idea on price?
They are 329.99 plus shipping from custom aquatic. I am think I can get them a little cheaper though through one of my distributors. If I v\can is anyone interested? I am going to try to talk them today and see if I can get them for 320.00.

I can get them for 318.00 plus shipping ( the Ampmaster 5600) they will be dropped shipped to anyone who is interested. Shipped UPS should be no more than 325.00 shipped .

I was planning on selling these pumps on my website but it may be a long time coming.....Go with MROK on them if you want one....jeez I may even get one from him for that price! Nice job bud!
I rechecked the shipping rates and they are a little more than I estimated. That pump weighs 40 pounds guys. Still the shipping rates are not bad using ups ground. Around 18.00-25.00 for shipping. I will call the distributor though. Sometimes they give me a break on these things. I will still give it (Ampmaster) to you for 318.00 plus shipping. If we can get enough people interested maybe we can get these for less i think. The ampmaster 3000 is 252.00 plus shipping. All wil be dropped shipped to you via ups ground. Let me know if anyone is interested.
You can check shipping at www.ups.com Origin zip 92009.

i may be interested in one.
1 question though...
i have (2) 1.5" drains on my tank...will this handle the flow?
I should handle it. I would set it up with several returns firstof ll and a couple of bypass lines with gate valves so yoo can redirect the water to the sump and adjust the flow without restcting it directly. It should handle it though. You can also increase the size of the plumbing going inth the sump. This will alow water to move easier.

OK,
The best price I can get is 305.00 Plus shipping if we get two or more people together to order the Ampmaster 5600 pumps. When we have two people I will call the distributor up before payment is made to assure that they are in stock and available. I will want shipping zip codes so that I can get shippingrates for you prior to purchase so there are no suprises. Retail on these babies is 329.99 plus shipping cost. That is the absolute best price I could get from them but it is for two or more. Same as before they will be drop shipped to you. I prefer members on this board for this deal. Not that I am biased, well maybe just a little (LOL)

Here is a link http://www.customaquatic.com/custom...=wp&brandID=DP#
Just scroll half way down the page. Click on the super amp master 5600 and then go to details. scroll down and the flow curve is right there for you. It is a 2 inch union.

Thanks but it pulls 4.8 amps from the chart?
I have the 3600 and after a friend tested it, we found it to draw more than twice what they claimed. I don't know all the technical jargon but I would be highly suspect of Dolphin claims about energy consumption. Reliabilty is also an issue. If these things are going to draw as much as they do, wouldn't a jacuzzi brand pump be more economical for a high flow pump? They'd certainly be more reliable. Thoughts?
I just ordeded a 3/4 hp Jacuzzi pump for my skimmer but it draws almost 10amps I was planning on 2 ampmaster 3000 for closed loops
I thought maybe this one pump would replace 2 but at almost 5 amps I think I will go with 2 3000s plus I get the brnifit of a backup if one goes down
mrok12, i may be interested in two HHS 5000. working on getting some feedback on them. if i decide to gop with them does it help to add to your order if you have not already placed?
LEt me know, Cut off is next wed
