Turbofloater 1000 Skimmer
Gday,
Well in looking into to skimmers over here in Australia I have discovered that we do not have all the skimmers that you have on offer in the US. Anyway I was looking at a Turbofloater 1000 model for 699 dollars and I thought it looked ok. So if any of you guys have had experience with this skimmer or heard anything about this skimmer could you please let me know. Cheers, Fishobob |

Hi Fishobob, welcome to Reefland!
![]() Yes, I think the Turboflotor 1000 skimmer is a good skimmer in that price range. I am talking about its U.S. price range, not the price you quoted. I just did the conversion and 699 dollars Australian works out to US$387. That's very high for a Turboflotor 1000. What pump does it come with in Australia? Over here the standard pump supplied with that skimmer is a Rio, and they do not have a very good reputation over here. Which is why I prefer the Turboflotor 1000 Multi skimmer. Same skimmer but it can be used as a hang-on skimmer, as an in-sump skimmer or as a hang-on-the-sump skimmer, and it comes with a German AquaBee pump. http://www.aqua-medic.de/index0.html Anyway, the standard Turboflotor 1000 skimmer is available over here for less than US$153 and the Turboflotor Multi with German AquaBee pump is only US$209 here: http://www.reeffanatic.com/cgi-bin/m...ategory=520000 US$209 = 377 Australian dollars. That vendor does ship equipment out of the U.S. via UPS. The standard Turboflotor 1000 skimmer without pump is US$126.90 and with Rio 2100 pump it is US$152.10 here: http://www.marinedepot.com/a_ps_t1000.asp?CartId= I am not sure if that vendor ships out of the U.S. or not.
