20k 4oo watt radium bulb..should look like this?
see the attached pic of a new 400 wattt 20k radium bulb. shoudl the bulb have an orange color to it. also is the small piece of glass in the outer shell but not in the bulb itself be anything to worry about. i just got four of these bulbs.

here is a pic of a photo taken of the bulb as it is warming up.
by the way how long does it take for these bulbs to burn in. they are running on pfo hqi ballasts. |

The orange color in the envelope is normal for the Radium. The glass shard is leftover from the manufacturing process. The bulbs are hand blown and this shard is left over more times than not when it is broken off after blowing. Common in a lot of MH bulbs. Should take the Radium around 100 hours to fully burn in.

using the pfo rflector in the pendent which has also the pc in it.
i am toying around with the pendent trying to adjust it so that the light is not reflected into the room. i'm trying to adapt the pendent to hang at an angle so that it is adjusted to send the light from the front of the tank to the back of the tank .. sounds a little confusing but if i get it right i will post a pic. |
