which pumps?????
HI,
Have new (SPS) 360gal tenecor tank in garage which will be moving into living room soon, the tank is plumbed for closed loop. I need 1 pump for return probably using 2-3/4"sea swirls. 1 for closed loop. was about to purchase 2 amp master 3600 but have been told they have performance issues, seals etc....and that 2-3600 might not push enough water. Need sugestion of other pumps. keep in mind that this will be in the living room and I would like to avoid the briggs&stratton noise level. Thanks-smackwater |

Hey smackwater
I have multiple AM3K's and I personally have had very little problems with them, of course I have been religious about maintaining them too, Im very partial to them So Far (I have been running most of mine for atleast 7mos. i believe if memory serves me correctly) Dolphin to my knowledge has been working diligently and has corrected most of their problems that you are referring to. When these pumps hit the market they where the greatest thing since the wheel and they hadnt really been longterm beta tested (to my knowledge) and everyone was overwhelmed by the massive amounts of water they moved comparatively to the amount of electricity consumed so everyone was expecting flaws because they thought it was too good to be true so IMO when the flaw came it gave Dolphin unworthy bad publicity because when the seals became apparent there was a problem with them they had SOOOO many pumps out there they were busting their butts to save grace so to speak. I also believe that some users of this pump got to the point of where the seal went to long w/ the problem leaking....some of them would barely leak not even being a problem it would be like one small drip every 20-48 hrs or comparable so it really didnt effect alot of users and some didnt even realize it until it had become to late and possibly done damage? (this is speculation) |

Been running my AM3K for about 18 months now, I did have to replace the seals once. I like the pump, so far.
As far as pushing water through 3/4" SS's, either pump will max the SS's out. If I were you I would go with the 1" SS's.... BTW, my pump never leaked. I had a restart issue. When power was cut the pump wouldn't restart due to the faulty seal. |
