Tank Mod help

I am redoing the 168g Starphire tank I own. I was selling this tank but decided against it. Long story that I wont go into now.

I had (2) cross braces and (2) corner overflows on the tank. Each overflow had (1) 1" return and (1)1-1/2 drain.

I have now cut out both overflows and will be using the drain/return lines as a closed loop system for 2 pumps. I have also removed the cross bracing and the small perimeter bracing on the tank. I will be going back with Euro Perimeter bracing and no cross braces. I was told by the builder that I could go back with 1/2 x 4" wide all around.

I want some other opinions on that size. Do you think its large enough?
Tank is 60l x 24w x 27h, glass is 12mm front and sides and 3/4 back and bottom.

Ltspd I wouldbe a little concerned about having no cross bracing, IMHO at least one centered brace should be used. If not I would laminate the euro bracing to achieve a 1" by 4" bracing all the way around.

Mike,
I sort of agree, it seems to weak IMO. I am basing this off of what the Builder recomended. I sure wish I could run this buy another tank builder

Sorry I never replied to our last email, I have been quite busy doing machine design. I am planning on pursuing what we discussed as time allows. I am working on a 3rd party project to display on both his and my future web site but I am working on it after long days in front of the monitor (like now) so I am not as productive as I can be.
