Which styrofoam for under my new acrylic tank?

I am going to home depot tommorow to pick up some styrofoam to place under my tank since the stand surface isnt perfect (close but not quite).
Anyway I see you say to use the pink or blue. What thickness is best and is there a name for the specific styrofaom or just look around till I find it.
The tank is only around 43 gallons so I an figuing 1/2" thick would be enough.

Thanks
Gregg

Gregg,
I put some type of 1/2" particle board under mine. I got it at Home Depot. It is very hard, smooth, and flat. It has worked very well. I just counter sunk 4 small brass screws to keep it from sliding around. It's not green like the picture shows but light brown color.

Regards,
Kevin

Just dont use the white stuff that is construced of all the little balls of styro.
The pink or blue, which I think is called insulated sheating. 1/2 thick would be fine.

Hey Kevinpo,
How did you attach those heavy light ballasts to the wall?
Thanks

JRF,
There is a small ledge 3-4" wide that I screwed a piece of flooring to. They are now located on the other side of the wall in the garage for heat reduction. In there I used a couple of shelf brackets with a 1x6 on it.

Regards,
Kevin
