i got this old usaaquarium it is 48"in highte (please see attachment)
the problem is that the water level is too far from the collection cup i've been running it for a few days and nothing please help |

Is the skimmer and/or the pump both submersed? if so where is the water level on either of them? 9 times out of 10 its a leveling problem with the water line or elevation of the skimmer comparitively speaking. Sometimes you need to baffle a section for a skimmer into a sump. But im not saying this is the problem for sure. Remember that diagram I told you about? Here it is

do you have the right pump.........it may not have enough head pressure to move the water up 4 feet with all the foaming and rolling action.

Put a valve on the output to adjust the water level in the skimmer!
