amp master 3000 Drain size hole
Would a 2" drain hole be good for a amp master 3000 or would it be to much suction to where I would need 2 1.5" drains.
The drain hole would be in the middle of the back of the tank. This is a 130 FOWLR turning into a softie lps tank latter but still agressive larger fish. |

FWIW I would go with 2 intakes' 1.5" or 2"
This way you are insured plenty of suction. Also it acts as a safety feature too if something were to get sucked up to and clogged one intake you will still have enough suction from the othe intake. Just my opinion. I know at work (inground swimming pools) it required by code to tee in 2 drains together for safety HTH PS: I to will be soon plumbing in a amp3k for a closed loop and plan to have 2 1.5" intakes tee'd in to a 1.5" line going to the suction side of the pump ![]() |

How about this the. Instead of having the T out side of the tank have just one bulkhead and put the T inside the tank with 2 screens.

I use a 1.5" U tube to feed my Amp Master 3000. It works just fine...
