Closed Loops w/ MaxiJets
Hi All,
Maybe this is just a silly question but does anyone use MaxiJet's in a closed loop set-up? I only have a 29G tank and room is extremely tight. Especially with the CPR HOB refugium I just set up along with the BackPack Skimmer that I have. I was wondering if, and how, I could hang the MaxiJet 1200 that I have outside the tank and somehow get the water to it and back into the tank. I don't think I have read anyone ever even trying this. I have only read posts of people using the larger pumps on closed loop systems. Thanks for any help, CaptK. |

Maxi jets have to be run in water or they will leak all over the place. THey are not water tight.

Plus, they tend to make awful noises if hooked up to a wavemaker or any on/off timers.Any hint of back pressure and noise would be hidious.I had it on a calcium reactor and trew it in the garbage after few days
