Recommendations for a CL Pump
Ok as some of you know I am completely frustrated with trying to get a closed loop on my 75. I tried everything possible with a MAG 18 with no luck so, I am looking for recommendations for a good external, quiet closed loop pump. I would like to get about 1000gph out of it without breaking the bank.
Thoughts? |

How about a an ampmaster. You could get a smaller one like the 2100 or something

iwaki wmd30rlxt would work well for youre application.its actually pretty decent on electricty compared to other external pumps in the same range-and im sure youre aware of the famous iwaki reliability.
its also the largest size that doesnt have that noisy fan -so its pretty quiet.not too expensive either. hth. ![]() |

How about an Iwaki MD 55 ... Probably not as quiet as the Ampmaster but Iwaki's are very good pumps. The MD 55 will flow about 1000 gph at 3 or 4 ft ...
See the following link for the full line of specs for Iwaki pumps. http://www.iwakiwalchem.com/iwaki/li...WMD_MD_MDH.pdf |

the reason i reccomended the 30 is because it will be for a closed loop-so the head will be minimal-maybe a couple feet at most.

True ... My choice of the 55 is based on ever wanting to use the pump for a different application in the future. The 30RXT will fall off the flow map quickly with head loss where the 55RLT will still have flow to spare with additional head loss.
I agree that the nice thing about the 30 is that there is no cooling fan on it so it will likely be quieter than the 55. |
