Question ?'s for Black cap

I saw your post over in the Reef forum on a reply to 300g tanks. I have a few questions for you but didn't want to stray of subject in some one else's thread
I too am going to be using a motorized 3-way valve set up for my closed loop. The one I'm going with is made by jandy (who like Hayward makes pool plumbing, etc.)
Any how it looked like from the pics you used mostly drain fittings on the plumbing. Have you had any problems with that where you running such strong pumps?? I cant tell from the pics what the level of the tank is is but it looks like the valve is much higher then the tank and then plumbed down to the returns Also what do you have for the reurns on the CL?? SS's??
I believe your friend was right about setting the cycle to be 20+mins. How's your corals seem to like it??
Sorry for so many questions
Mark

Mark,
I don't know if Blackcap will visit this forum ( I hope so because I forgot to ask about that yesterday) I was at his house yesterday for the first time. I knew he had the ball valve but I forgot to ask about it. It looks like its about 4 or 5 feet above the tank (not sure) and feeds to two 1" pvc pipes on each side. He also has a SS in the middle of the tank..

He has two 1" PVC inlets on each end, I'm not sure if he feeds one pipe on each side each time the valve turns or if he feeds the two pipes on one side. I would think he's always feed the SS.

HTH

Mark,
He has a very nice tank, we traded a few frags, talked about some people we both know and just kind of hung out for a while. I'll tell you this, he has a huge skimmer, its an ETSS. I think he said it was a 2500...This sucker's like 6 feet tall.

Hey, I'm sure he wont mind you e-mailing him. In case you didn't notice his e-mail address is on the pictures he posted.
