I voted for the square glass tank. I've seen some awesome cubes recently. I own both glass and acrylic tanks right now and I like glass better because I run lots of light on my tanks and glass dissapates the heat much better. It also is much less likely to scratch (it can be done though). I do like acrylic for the fact that it can be easily drilled.
Regards, Kevin

Hi ecila, welcome to Reefland!
![]() I voted for a glass tank (either square or rectangular) but I see from your profile that you live in California. You might want to take the earthquake factor into consideration in choosing a large (100+ gallons) tank. If I still lived in the Bay Area, I believe I might have chosen acrylic over glass. Acrylic tanks will survive moderate quakes better than glass.

I chose glass too, because of its resistance to scratch is higher than acrylic. I would love to have a bowfront but I also like to take alot of pictures of my tank, and I have heard that bowfronts can distort the pictures somewhat. If the tank is gonna be setup in a living room or somewhere exposed to kids playing then I would also be more apt. to go w/acrylic because of glass's ease of breaking

Playing with Plastic
I gotta choose plastic.... That way as things change you can just keep drilling it and changing it. Yes it does scratch easier -- But a good power polisher and once a year it's shiny as can be.
