closed loop with out drilled tank
I have a Iwaki wmd 20 rlxt that I would like to use on a closed loop on a glass tank that is not drilled. Is it possible to do with a pvc drain going over the top over tank to suck water out or would it asking to much of it to syphon water out that way?
I seems I saw some one do this with a frag tank. |

Most people probably do it that way, I do....Just make a U tube out of PVC. Its a closed loop so you don't have to worry about any kind of back siphon when the power is cut.

Sure it cam be & has been done my many people, Such as golfish But I think that by doing so you'll take away alot from your pump. I'm not sure how big you tank is but with an Iwaki 20 and a over the top u-tube you may not get alot of flow. Just my 2cents ![]() |

They make a u-tube from pvc, 3/4 inch. I bought one at Lowes and they are already bent. Was only a few dollars.. That way you wont have to bend one yourself and worry about rough inside edges, that may cause bubbles or restict the flow.

You don't bend anything. Just use two 90 degree elbows |
