Lightbulb I got a couple of dumb questions

I am gonna use a overflow box(Iknow) anyway since wet/drys are such a no no nowadays, what do you do with the plumbing coming from the box to make it quiet, the box I have has a double drain line,do I just stick them in the sump, seems like you would get a lot of splashing and it would make alot of noise, this overflow does 1400 gph.
Next what is the best heaters to use, what would you recommend?I am goning to have the heaters in the sump, was planning on using 2,should they both go in the sump?
I was also thinking of using some sort of a spray bar behind the rocks to help keep that area clean.Would I just drill some holes in some pvc and hook my return pump to the spray bar?Would you run it the entire length of the tank? How big should the holes be?How many holes?
Thank you,
David

You can probably try a durso modification with PVC piping to quiet the noise. I think the Durso website is down however.

I have used EboJagers and it seems to do the trick although you have to set the temperature from an accurate thermometer and not the numbers on the heater.

Don't have a spray to say but if it's going to be running down deep towards the tank, you will probably need some kind of check valve.

The number of holes is probably dependent on what your pump is concerning GPH and head pressure.

I also have used the Ebo's with good luck they are a great heater. It is a good idea to use two and I would put them in the sump. On a 50 gallon tank for example I would use 2 100 watt heaters setting one a couple degrees cooler than the other so that if one fails you have a back up and if the room temp drops drastically they wont work so hard to heat the tank.

I would go with ebo's for heaters. I have used them for years and have not had a problem with one have gotten. I did get one of the won titanium heaters but only use it for water changes. I have heard and seen them go bad. The LFS had a 350w won heater he was using on his fish system and it quite working after 2 weeks and the guy that makes them said he would send a new one but it never showed and never heard from him again bad buss.

I spray bar would be fine you just want to keep it near the water surface so when the power goes out or some thing happens that the pump stops it doesnt syphon all ;your tank water down into your sump and on to the floor.
Hole size would the bigger the better (1/4"-3/8") because small holes plug fast with algea and then need to cleaned. The length is real up to you. I would try a few different lengths and see what works the best.
The number of holes would depend on the size of the return pump and how much flow you want coming out of each hole another test and add holes till you get flow out of each hole that suites your needs.

Do a search on "stockman" and "durso" and you should fined plenty of info on quiting down the overflow.
