euro reef makes a pretty skimmer for insump. There are alot of good skimmers out there though. I like euroreefs since they come with thier pump are easy to hock up and very easy to adjust.

I just ordered the MR-1 model from here:
http://www.myreefcreations.com I have read a ton of good things about these skimmers. I called and talked to Andy about ordering my skimmer and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. I will be using mine for a 125gal reef tank. The tank isn't up and running yet but i will post again when i get to test it out.

Redhaus, what pump are you going to use to drive the skimmer? That skimmer looks real Nice, I was leaning towards a skimmer at Premium Aquatics for 228. including the pump... its the Euro reef ES5-2 My friend Matt runs that one and it pulls alot of Stinky nasty Skimate out of the Tank!!!!

Wow....
Thats the Pump I use as a return from my sump!!!! I used 1" PVC and the sucker moves some water, I matched it up with the cpr Skimmer box with dual 1" outlets and have all the valves wide open, they seem to be a good match. I also noticed the CPR has some pretty decent skimmers listed anyone have any experience with them? Mike |

I don't have any experience with CPR skimmers but my brother has one and he likes it alot. Maybe if he reads this thread he will give you some feedback on it.

I have the SR4 in sump skimmer from CPR. Great skimmer for the price! Drop it in and its ready, no fooling around with flow rate. I orriginally purchased a Turbo Floater and hated it because I could never get flow/bubble rate correct. I purchased the SR4 for my 55 gallon reef, thay market it for up to 120 gallon. I would go for the SR6 if I were you. Good luck!

Thanks Chris...
I was considering the Turbo Floater b4 I found the CPR skimmers, sounds like I can't go wrong with one of those. Especially since I like the Overflow so much it is pretty Quiet... I've read some posts saying bad things about the overflow, but I have no complaints!!! |

I put a modification on the out flow from the skimmer so it wouldn't splash and it works great. I will post a pic later!

From experince if a mfg says it's rated for a 300g it would only be good on a 150g but that's my own opinion. If I knew then what I know now it would have saved me $,$$$ or so....
BTW on my 125g Reef w/44g sump, i'm running an ETSS 800 on a Mag-2400gph. Better to overkill and choke it back alittle then find out you don't have enough. ![]() |

I would go with a Euroreef CS6-1 or CS6-2. I have had success with this brand and the service has been great!
