Gen X
Anybody have any exp. with the Gen X 8500 used as a external pump? I am wanting a pump for a closed loop that runs over 2000 gph and this one does 2248.

Nope sorry, only use the Mag pumps here, good pump for cheap...

Not sure either but they look like the Sedra pumps and sedra pumps are pretty reliable and used with the Euroreefs.
Transfishsupplies.com has the Sedra 2000 gph for about $80 if you can't find any info on the Genx submersible pumps. |

I have the smaller model. The Gen X mak-4, 1190gph. I have been running it now for the past 6 months and had no problems. I am happy with their performance so far. Only time will tell.
