I just got one a couple of days ago and wondered what settings you use in your aqaurium? We have 3 MJ 1200's connected to the unit and currently have ours set on Reef Mode, using the Alternating Current setting which cycles the unit through all 3 of the different types of current.
I think the unit is a nice addition to those of us who use powerheads because we were going to need therapy trying to set up a closed loop. ![]() Regards, |

When I had mine on my 125 I had it set to reef mode also and ran 4 MJ 1200's it was one of the better investments I had made and wish I had not sold it when I took the tank down.

Scott,
We are using ours to run three (3) Maxi-Jet 900s. We use the fourth channel for our skimmer. The "Feed Button" works great when cleaning the skimmer cup. Just punch the button and it will automatically turn back on. As for our cycle setting, we use the Reef mode on the cycle setting. Doug

We are really pleased with our unit so far. I wish the feed mode left the main pump on but I also like your suggestion of putting the skimmer on it. I think I will plug the pump into the strip and put the skimmer on P4 to get the same effect. That would be really nice when feeding DT's.
![]() Thank goodness for Maxi Jet's, I don't know that another powerhead would do very well going on and off so much. ![]() |

I think this is the only Red Sea product I like. LOL!!
I am running 6 maxijet 1200 on my 120g. I have three poweheads mounted on each side of the tank and runs on the reef mode also. only thing is that I run option two a week and then switch it to option three for a week, when I use option two? I get continuous current from one side then switch to the the other side day and night. On option three, I get a strong center current as all powerheads are turn on every three minutes or so. I have table corals on the righ side of the tank ad have many larger colonies in the center of the tank and I find these two options the best for my tank. Option three gives me strong current a dayand I get one side flow continously at night. HTH!~

I too used one and it worked tirelessly, however, due to the constant struggle with MJ's, suction cups and the like, I decided to replace the whole setup with a Tunze stream and a single controller. Yes, I know, more expensive but more importantly, I noticed a 3 to 4 degree drop in the temperature swing from am to pm and it had to be the heat from the MJ's. The controller was great but the PH's left something to be desired. Just my thoughts...

The chronological age of information does not preclude it's relevance. this coming from a 42 year old teenager!

![]() Hi acmeguy, ![]() I couldn't agree with you more on this. Although the MJ's are reliable powerheads, the suction cups don't last long. I typically try to find a way around using them to overcome that problem. Hang them by the cord over the back of the tank, lodge it between some rocks, etc. |
