Reef Hobbyist Online Submission Information

Reef Hobbyist Online strives to be the premiere online publication for saltwater aquarium enthusiasts. The goal of our publication is to provide readers from around the world with the opportunity to gain the knowledge necessary to maintain thriving marine aquariums. We recognize that the knowledge required to succeed is available from many sources ranging from industry professionals to the casual home aquarist. The methods and techniques used to succeed vary as mush as the people that attempt them.

Reef Hobbyist Online will accept queries from anyone. Whether the content is from scientific research or anecdotal reports, we are asking for your best-written articles. However, before submission of an article, please submit the following information to allow the editor to determine whether the article is of a nature that is currently needed or acceptable material for publication.

Please send to rho@reefland.com:
Article title
Author name and contact information
Subject summary or abstract

As an author of an article that is selected and published in an edition of our magazine, you will receive compensation based on our established rates. This will be contractually arranged with the author after a submission is received, editorially reviewed and the article accepted for publication.

Upon topic acceptance, but prior to the final acceptance for publication, the article will be reviewed by our editorial staff (see guidelines below). Note: Acceptance of the topic and the article for review does NOT guarantee acceptance for publication. The editorial review consists of a grammatical review, information validation, which includes scientific content and assumption reviews, and may include suggestions for changes or additions or required changes, additions or deletions. Our editors are among the best and our editorial process is not what is expected from other aquarium related publications. In some cases, outside referees or experts may be consulted or contacted for further review if an article requires additional input. Authors of submitted articles should be prepared to receive a detailed edit of their article, which will include constructive feedback and required changes and additions. Upon receipt of the changes, articles will undergo a second review prior to acceptance for publication. This is not intended to undermine the initial work of the author, but to improve the content, value, and professionalism of each article published in Reef Hobbyist Online.
