I’ve had the wav power heads for about two months now so I thought it a fair time to write up a review. First I must say you need an apex controller in order to use these puppies. Previously to owning these power heads I had two MP40’s so I will be comparing the wav to them. I got to be honest I wasn’t sure I wanted to have a pump and a wire in my tank again, ya know less heat transfer little bit cleaner look imo. Now the difference with the wav is that I’m able to place them on the back of my tank and angle them to do a much better job distributing water flow then the mp’s on the side of the tank. So maybe the fact their on the back makes for a better look than the straight flowing mp’s in view all the time. The controls for these pumps and features are nothing short of mind blowing and If you ever got shrunk down like In the movie Honey I shrunk The Kids you can totally surf on the wav that these make. As far as the noise that the MP40’s made (note I had the model before quiet drive) the wav’s are silent in comparison. The one small thin wire going into my tank is really nothing and all the components 1 link and power supply have long enough wires you can easily place them in a free good spot. So if you’re in need of some new water movers and own an apex look no further, get the Wav. If you don’t own an apex yet this might be the time to add this as a reason to get one cause they will not disappoint.
